Pranabananda vidyamandir, Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Lumding organized & observed International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2015 at Railway Institute, Lumding. Prior to the event, the school had provided 10 days Yoga Training(9th to 20th June) not only to its own students but also, to the students of almost all other schools of Lumding Town. Mr Ranendra Kr. Nath, the Yogaguru, along with other trainers trained the children in Yoga & Pranayam. The response of the school children was overwhelming. on 21st June Pranabananda Vidyamandir, Lumding with the help of Patanjali Yogapith, Lumding Unit organized a "YOGA MARCH". Around 3000 people including 2500 school children, members of Patanjali Yogapith, members of various social and cultural organizations and people in general took part in the march. The programme was inaugurated by SWAMY Sadhananandaji Maharaj, Secertary, Pranabananda Vidyamandir, Lumding and the Chief Organiser of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, North-East Region in presence of other distinguished guests. The students from all the participating schools performed "MASS YOGA" including "SURYA PRANAM" to the great delight of the people present in the open space outside the Railway institute. After the falicitation to the guests, Shri Ranendra Kr Nath, the Yoga Guru along with six students of Pranabananda Vidyamandir, demonstrated various techniques of Yoga & Meditation to the august audience. The Chief guest of the Programme Shri Baisistha Bujurbarua along with Secretary of the school, Swamy Sadhanandaji Maharaj and Prof. Uma Bhowmick delivered lecture on the history & importance of practicing Yoga & Meditation.
The Head of the various schools congratulated & thanked Pranabananda Vidyamandir, Lumding for its noble endeavour. Each of the 17 participating school was honoured with "CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION" for allowing Pranabananda Vidyamandir, Lumding to organize YOGA CAMP at their schools & for actively participating in the programme. In his concluding speech, the Principal of the school, Mr. Shekhar Chakraborty assured to organize more Yoga Camps at various schools in future. Mr. Chakraborty thanked Patanjali Yogapith, Lumding Unit for extending their support in making the programme a grand success.
